This is absolutely wonderful. Thanks Jochen! Among the absolute best pieces this Phase.
We sometimes forget that EN is more than Blixa, Blixas persona and Blixas lyrics. And cooking. If there’s one thing I’d like the coming phase to focus on it would be the sonic experimentation which is the main reason I love the band.
In this case it is not the band – but I’d love to see / hear what happens if you put any combination of musicians – alex+andy, Jochen+Rudi etc together in a room and see what happens.
hi daniel! great that you enjoyed the session, we are doing more of this for sure. i had the same idea a while ago to combine the band members for sessions in different order. but this is only possible in the studio i guess. so we have to wait for that, but lets keep it in mind. greetings
Looking forward to that! Any combination could give any unexpected result.
And before anyone reacts – it’s not that I have anything against Blixa. On the contrary. But the band is more than just one member.
And I probably use the term. “Persona” wrong.
I hadn’t noticed, but now I’ve seen it again and there it is.
I’m not a musician, but I’m very interested in how this kind of music works. To what extent is it improvised, how much have you agreed on before. What kind of cues do you get from each other during the session. Is it possible to do that without visual cues, online?
Is it even possible to put these things
In words. Again – I’m no musician so this may be an impossible question.
hi daniel! this is completly improvised, that is the point. you need capable players for that who know what they are doing. no cues or talks before, just plug in and play. of course that could be done online, but it is way better to be physical in one room. and we do not need words for that, it is about trust and listening what the others do. greetings

by the way on the session, as you can see ,also the first 15 min are duos and then we played together for the rest of it.
